Sex ratio and gamete size across eastern North America in Dictyostelium discoideum, a social amoeba with three sexes is the editor’s choice for super cool paper at Journal of Evolutionary Biology for July! This is one of the few studies that actually measures size of gametes in a species with three sexes and shows them to be all the same size, isogamous. It goes on to show that all three sexes occur in different locations across eastern North America in overall similar proportions with variation at different cites.
Congratulations, Tracy!
